.:. SAIL

Sail lets you take the helm and steer a ship. You need the Sail skill
and must be in the ship's helm room. Only one person can hold the helm
at a time.

Syntax:
> sail
Takes the helm, or lets go of it if you are already steering.

> sail <direction>
Moves the ship one room in that direction. Take the helm first.

Example:
> sail
The helm is yours.
> sail south

A ship can sail once her boarding plank is raised, she is undocked,
her anchor is up and her sails are raised. Use
deckwork status to
check those settings, and see
help deckwork for changing them.

Surveying:
> survey

Survey shows the surroundings outside the ship without your leaving
the deck. You do not need to hold the helm or have a skill to survey,
but you must be aboard a ship and on one of her decks.

Simulation:
> simulation <text>

Simulation shows your description to everyone on the ship's deck.
It takes the Simulation skill, and you must be on a deck. You can use
it to narrate the crossing for your passengers. The person holding
the helm can use
announce for the captain's calls.
