For questions about code projects, try the project board. It is an out-of-character discussion board, open to players as well as staff, which you can read from anywhere on the MUD. You can ask about a project or add information to an existing discussion. Syntax: > project list Prints every thread on the board. A star marks a thread whose first post you have not read; the bracketed count shows its unread replies. > project show [<topic> [<comment>]] With no number, lists the threads you have not finished reading. With a number, reads that thread, or one comment inside it. > project new <title> Starts a thread. You are asked to write the body, ending it with two at-signs alone on a line. > project comment <topic> <title> Adds your reply to a thread. Example: > project list > project show 4 > project comment 4 The new docks You need to be authorised to post, and a muted character cannot write on any board. Typing project on its own prints the board's whole usage list. Reporting instead of asking: > bug <title> > idea <text> > typo <text> bug takes a short title and then asks you to describe the problem, including how to bring it back. idea and typo each take one line and answer Okay. Thanks! when they take it. Staff see all three. Describe what went wrong and how staff can reproduce it. The project board is a place to ask about planned work, not a guarantee that every code change or task is posted there. Which build is this?: > version Version prints the build of the game you are connected to. Quote it in a report so staff can tell whether the build you are on already has the fix for your problem. There is no changelog: There is no in-game command that prints the code changelog. updates concerns the world's in-character news and rumours, not software changes. Staff-only places: > cdtalk <text> > ctasks > bdtasks Coder discussion and the coder and builder task boards are for staff. cdtalk is the Coder channel and only members of that multiguild may use it, and ctasks and bdtasks answer Only coders may use this. and Only builders may use this. to everyone else. Task boards hold assignments, not discussion: help task boards explains them. You can also ask a question on the question-and-answer channel; see help question.
